Nier is officially one of my favorite games, EVER!!

July 2, 2010

So, I think Nier is definitely going to be in my top 10 favorite games of all time. I really enjoyed this game. The game has four different endings and the way you get each ending is by playing the game four times. I beat the first run today and started the second run. When you beat the game the first time you see this big reveal. When you start the second run, they add little cut scenes within the game that weren’t in the first run. These cut scenes build on the knowledge that you gained at the end of the first run. It’s actually really neat. I like that it adds these extra elements to make you want to replay the game. You actually don’t have to replay the entire game. Apparently the second and third run are only the last half game and the fourth run is just a boss run.

There are also achievements for beating the bosses within certain time limits. I only got one of them my first play through. In my second play through I was able to keep my level from the first,so now they are significantly easier and I have actually gotten the achievement for the first two bosses.

Here are the achievements I have received since my last update:

I’m probably not going to be playing tomorrow. I think I’m going to work on some flash projects tomorrow, so expect to possibly see an new flash movie up. I definitely won’t be playing this weekend, because I’m going to visit my mom for her birthday and to sell some of my crap in a yard sale she is having.  Next week, I’ll be working on stuff for school (teaching) so I probably won’t have a lot of time to play then, either.Oh, well. I’ll play it when I can.

I made a pact with myself that I wouldn’t buy any new video games in the month of July. The goal is to play a game I own and either never played or never finished playing. So, I’ll have to go shopping in my closet when I am finished with Nier.
